A.I. and Music Streaming Companies Forcing Me to Terminate Online Music Streaming.
Specifically, Spotify has instituted a new set of artist terms that hand them extensive rights to use original compositions to train their A.I., and create new derivative and hybrid musical works, based on practically anything that’s streaming on their platform. This is a likely violation of copyright law and an afront to the creative spirit. I expect that as this approach starts to create profits for certain companies, others will follow suit.
I do not use A.I. in my musical or video work, and I do not intend to fascilitate its misuse by others, even if it costs me.
My music is being taken down from all major streaming platforms in the coming days.
I will be terminating my Spotify account in the near future. I hope you will consider other platforms for your music streaming.
I WILL CONTINUE RELEASING MY MUSIC VIDEOS TO CERTAIN PLATFORMS, AND FOR NOW ALL OF MY MUSIC IS PLAYABLE ON MY WEBSITE’S MUSIC PAGE via embedded disco.ac players.
My DISCO.AC account hosts all of my music for discovery by music supervisors and directors. It is playable by any visitor as well.
I will be pursuing other avenues for spreading my music, and achieving my goals in the coming months.
